  Following its success in 2016, NEXTGEN held its annual Summer Party on Bennelong Lawn in the Sydney Botanical Gardens, amidst a backdrop of Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge views. With a touch of tangerine dress code, the specialist distributor hosted Actifio, Commvault, Nimble Storage, Oracle, SAP and SolarWinds, alongside key reseller partners across the channel.   The Distribution Central history goes back to when it was founded in 1992 as Firewall Systems, an IT security services provider. The company was acquired by Scott Frew and Nick Verykios in 2004, with Frew founding LAN Systems - now Westcon-Comstor - and both founding 1World Systems and Micro Networks. ​​This slideshow pays tribute to DC over the years, its co-founders, and the people that have graced both it and Frew and Verykios' associated companies. So here's some some DC party meltdowns plus plenty of history.

  NEXTGEN held its second annual summer party on Bennelong Lawn in the Sydney Botanical Gardens, on the tip of one of the most spectacular views of the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge and beyond. In conjunction with partners Oracle, SolarWinds, CommVault, Nimble Storage and ARN, the event was NEXTGEN’s way of thanking partners for their business and support. Attendees were treated to champagne from Veuve Clicquot and experienced the rare opportunity to sample a new offering from Veuve not yet available in Australia. The Champagne blend was served on ice with a selection of fruits to bring out the characteristics of the beverage. It was also a great opportunity for the channel community to swap stories, make new connections, and to celebrate the year ahead in a lavish end of summer. Photos by Maria Stefina

  The wet weather did little to dampen the spirits of attendees to Commvault’s Melbourne Cup event at Studio in Sydney Tower. Attendees were treated to betting vouchers for the casino-themed party co-sponsored by Avnet and Distribution Central. Photos by Chris Player.

  Nextgen Distribution took to Centennial Park in the heart of Sydney for a party to thank, together with its vendor partners Oracle, Nimble Storage, Violin Memory and CommVault, all of the people who have done business with the company and supported it over the past year.   Distribution Central partners and resellers have come together for a partner event to discuss <i>Tomorrow's Cloud and infrastructure customer</i> in Sydney. Distribution Central managing director, Nick Verykios, revealed the company's view on the infrastructure and Cloud market, while Telsyte analyst, Rodney Gedda, presented the results of a recent market study. It also included a techology panel with representatives from CommVault, Fujitsu, NetApp, Seagate (EVault), SanDisk (Fusion-io) and SimpliVity.
