Perth-headquartered Magia Solutions has appointed Surend Dayal as its CEO replacing Steve Solomon who will move into the role of executive chairman in addition to his existing role of chief financial officer.

The appointment coincides with the company’s goals of expansion both abroad and in Australia, Dayal said.

“With a recorded growth within the company of 38 per cent last year, my focus is to continue to build on those excellent results, particularly over the next three years,” Dayal said.

“I’ve already identified Magia as having a solid foundation with a reputation for innovation, rigour and producing quality results for clients.”

He added that he views Magia as being the most qualified CX partner for Oracle across Australia and New Zealand.

Dayal joins from Oracle where he spent the last 10 years of his career and was most recently vice president of the public sector for A/NZ.

“Of note he established the Oracle Policy Automation solution and is also a senior lecturer in IT law at the Australian National University," Solomon said. “I have no doubt he will build on the foundations set by the Magia team including chief technology officer Peter Crew and chief operating officer Chris Hinds and I welcome him aboard.”

Dayal oficial start date is 19 August and he will be based in Magia’s Canberra office.
